Alexa Derr recognizes that a well-rounded training program is the key to success. Alexa’s personal and professional medley of dressage/event horses; including ponies, Friesians, OTTBs, draft crosses and warmbloods, has given her confidence in approaching training from all different angles. Riders that train and lesson with Alexa not only learn how to correctly execute each movement as you go up the levels, but also learn problem-solving skills when working on their own. Alexa focuses her lessons and training rides on the clear use and response of aids. She strongly believes that correct basics form an imperative foundation for both the horse and rider to advance. Once this is achieved, she uses a variety of exercises to develop sustainable suppleness, muscular strength, and ease of lateral movements.
